Common Mistakes Students Should Fix During Correction

Every year Class 12 aspirants repeat the same errors. Use this checklist to verify your form:

  • Incorrect spelling of your name (must match Class 10 certificate)
  • Wrong category selection affecting reservation
  • Mismatched date of birth
  • Poor quality photo or wrong background
  • Incorrect test city choices
  • Wrong paper selection (e.g., selecting B.Arch accidentally)
  • Choosing the wrong state code of eligibility
  • Uploading signature in uppercase letters

Correct all of these now to avoid rejection or problems during counselling.

You may need to pay extra charges if:

  • You change your category (GEN → OBC → EWS etc.)
  • You add or modify exam choices
  • You switch from one paper to both papers
  • You make changes that affect application fee

If no fee change is involved, NTA does not charge anything for corrections.

Important Tips for Class 12 Students During Form Correction

1. Match Everything with Class 10 Certificate

Name, date of birth, and parent’s details must match official records.

2. Upload Photo Correctly

Use a clear photo with a white background, 10–200 KB size.

3. Choose the Correct State Eligibility Code

This affects counselling quotas later.

4. Select Exam City Based on Availability

If seats are full, choose the nearest alternative.

5. Avoid Changing Data Unnecessarily

Changing details too many times can lead to inconsistencies during JoSAA counselling.

After Correction Window Closes – What Happens Next?

  • NTA will verify your details
  • Incorrect or mismatched entries may lead to rejection
  • Admit cards will be released based on corrected information
  • Further changes will NOT be allowed

So ensure your details are accurate during this correction period.
